About

I’m Greg Palmer and I am a woodworking nerd. How do you know when you’re a woodworking nerd? When you see anything and think, ‘How can I make that out of wood’? And I think that to myself all the time.

I got started in woodworking shortly after I got engaged to the girl who is now my wife. I started working for my father-in-law’s cabinet shop and I was immediately hooked on woodworking. The funny part is that my dad worked for him in the same shop before I was born and I remember going to his shop as a kid. Despite the fact that my dad was a woodworker and an all around handyman, I didn’t learn how to read a tape measure until I was almost 22 years old. For that reason one of my goals for this site is to expose people unfamiliar to the craft of woodworking to the amazing things that can be done with wood. With that I also want to help promote industrial arts in our schools so that kids can get exposure to the different mediums of creativity (woodworking or otherwise).

So I hope you enjoy the variety of projects, videos, and information on the site. I appreciate feedback from my readers so feel free to contact me by e-mail.

Thanks,

Greg
